Volvic Final animation

Im quite happy about the result because it meets with the target audience expectations. We improved quite alot from the animatic version. It took quite a while to finish animating the nunchuck scene because of the colouring in (wished i kept the colours simpler). Havent had any sleep for 3 days trying to complete this animation with mike. after all the hard work, we are quite happy of the outcome. we have even improved on the sound effects which shows tension, danger and success feel to it, 

3 Hours before handing in, we noticed we are about to hand in an unfinished work with out the  ninja saying "hand over the bottles" so I had to quickly edit it and make it fit to 40 sec

I have improved the scene that needs changing the most, Inside the Cave. as you can see, i have completely changed Michael's design from the gold red lava background to a sacred cave well. This is inspired from Indiana jones caves and Pirates of the carribean and made it to my design.

The Fountain

this took ages for me to draw because, I've been combining images together to get this result.

I have started designing Bruce Lee for the nunchuck scene.

I have kept this as PNG images in my blog so illustrators can use it for the tshirt designs and banners if they want.

You can use this illustration in posters, t-shirt, etc...

I am quite happy with the result for the nun chuck scene, to improve is may be add inbetween frames to make it smoother but i think it is fine as it is

Ive been trying different tests for the ripple scene for the cave scene to make it look alive not just a picture. but when i played this through the whole scene, cant really notice this much

These are some rought posters and banner designs I made just to help out the Graphic designers and illustrators because I notice not much work has been done by them. I dont like my group would look bad in the final presentation

As you can see, i have kept the light blue colour theme to represent water and kept it simple by keeping the background plain colour to be easily understood

This is the final animatic edited all together from the scenes of the previous post.

We have used photoshop to draw the assets and animated, and edit using After Effects and Photoshop.

In the presentation, people really loved our work and they didnt expect use to go overboard. we wanted to have high grades so Me and Mike did our best.

We still got some good crit from the audience but telling us to change the intro of the cave to look much more watery blue not golden red like lava because it wouldnt work for advertising water. It would be good for energy drink. The sound effect was too repetitive and too much tension. we might add more scenes and frames to improve for the final.

What has to be done!!!

For almost nine weeks, we havent seen results of the story board from the illustrator students, Me and Michael decided to plan ahead and make an animatic to be ready for the mock presentation.

Me and Michael have decided to divide the scenes in half to our selves and worked overnight  for days and finally happy with the results for our animatic.

We have went overboard by adding colours and moving image in out animatic. We can reuse this animatic to our final animation because it is the exact style we are going for. Voicing and narrating was very fun, me and Michael had many versions and takes for this, we tried even using wallace and gromitts voice just for the fun of it.

We are still unsure of the sound effects for this, so we are going to improve it in the final bit

Bruce Lee Development Key Frames and Story Board

I have came up with the idea of advertising Volvic mineral water by showing its Natural Source of power I have chosen to use Bruce Lee as our main character because of the sounds he makes while doing martial arts, "Watta" rhymes with "Water" which is a play with sounds. We also want to give the idea of natural source of power in water which gives life and energy. Bruce Lee is good example of having natural source of power because of his hard training, he was able to master his own martial arts with out using performance enhancing drugs.

I was thinking of adding colour to Bruce Lee after he drinks Volvic water, this shows that it gives life and energy

This could be the sort of animation we could use for our project, a motion graphic animation 

Natural Source of Power

These are the 3 main key frames for the volvic advert idea. 

It started with all black and white background showing no life to it, Bruce Lee surrounded by enemy ninjas. Outnumbered and unarmed he is powerless. Bruce Lee spots Volvic bottles and a rope and made it into a nun-chuck. Bruce Lee fights his enemies, background contrasts from red to yellow, his grunt sound effects will popup like letters in a comic book. When the enemies are all defeated, Bruce Lee finishes his final pose presenting Volvic while shouting his grunt "Watta" which rhymes with "Water"

This is my story board idea sketched on paper then it will be handed down to the illustrators to finalize and drawn neatly.

Hi illustrators, me and Michael has made a rough story board for the bruce lee idea, if it is possible that you can make a proper story board for our group. Make it really nice and neat, if possible add colours to it. after we've done the storyboard, me and Michael can start animating.

Tree Animation test using Photoshop
